Jim was a former truck driver and business owner born and raised in Louisville, KY. He was a husband, first and foremost, but as an Army veteran, with service in Vietnam, he had a passion for the military that was a large part of his life too. His real legacy will live on in the lives of his wife, five children, and in the hearts of everyone he came into contact with. He was a husband to one, father to five, grandfather to three, uncle to many, and hero to all. He will be missed, but will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Theresa Rodgers Davis; two daughters, Mellisa Didonato (Nick) and Rhonda Sue Young; three sons, Mikie (Amanda), Brandon, and Bryan Self; three grandchildren, Derek Davis, Melody Pyles, and Brittany Davis; along with countless nieces, nephews, and additional family that he loved.
