James K. “Jim” Shangle 77, passed away at Audubon Hospital on January 27, 2021. Jim was born in Ithaca, NY to the late Kermit and Gladys Shangle. Jim graduated from DeKalb High School in Illinois and furthered his education at the Art Institute of Chicago. After graduating, Jim made his way to Louisville where he was the owner/partner of SA Communications, formerly known as Studio Arts, Inc.
Jim faithfully attended New Life Church.
Along with his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his son Charles K. Shangle and in-laws Oda Shouse, Noah Shouse, Robert Shouse, Kirtley Shouse and Betty Burden (Bobby).
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 39 years Jean Shangle, daughter Carrie Johnson (Richie), stepson Jon King (Natalie), grandchildren Morgan Trapp (Justin), Taylor King, Lilly King, Lee Johnson and Savannah Johnson and brother Jan Shangle. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Kathy Shouse, Joan Shouse, Debbie Shouse and Darlene Shouse and brother-in-law Jimmy Shouse (Barb).
A private memorial service and entombment will take place at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Memorial Park.
