James "Jim" Willett

Born to the late Simon Willett and Marietta Hulsey Willett, Jim is also preceded in passing by his siblings Beverly Skinner and Bert Pearl; and niece Renee Clark. Here to carry on his memory is his adoring wife of 44 years Tricia Willett; son Michael Mitchell; brother-in-law John Harold; sister-in-law Julie Clark; nephews Robbie Clark, Blake Harold; Nicholas Skinner; great-nephew Brad; great-niece Sarah; granddaughter Christine Barber; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Jim was a proud U.S. Army Veteran. He retired as a safety instructor from General Motors after working diligently for 35 years. He enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing, model trains, guns, and practicing at the shooting range. He also got into astronomy and using his telescope to look at the stars, and riding his bicycle with his wife. But his favorite hobby was taking his beloved wife sailing and swimming for the weekend on Lake Lanier.

A visitation will be held Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 9:30 am – 11:00 am at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. A funeral service in Jim’s honor will begin immediately at 11:00 am. Jim will be laid to rest in Resthaven Memorial Park.

The family is requesting all attendants wear a mask regardless of vaccination status, and bump elbows instead of hugging. Thank you for understanding.
