James was passionate in his life about many things. Such things included games. James loved bingo, board games, Yahtzee, uno, and any kind of card games. He was also a huge fan of John Wayne westerns, loved old country gospel hymns, and loved going fishing.
He was always such a sweet man, always smiling, and with that great sense of humor. Everybody loved him, he was so personable and never met a stranger.
He loved his wife Doris, his daughter Zina, his brothers and sisters, and all of his family.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Doris June Krebs married 44 years, his parents Aloysius Morrison Krebs and Laverne (Kremer) Krebs, daughter Jeanie Krebs, stepchildren Debra Brown and Carl Helm, and his brother Fred Krebs.
He is survived by his children Zina Helm, James Krebs Jr., grandchildren Michael Helm, and siblings Morris, Janice, and Jon Krebs.
Visitation will be held at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home 8519 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY 40219, on April 21, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and again on April 22, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
