81, of Louisville passed away March 24, 2013 at The Episcopal Church Home surrounded by family.
He was born July 10, 1931 in Cleveland, TN. and graduated from Middle Tennessee State University. He retired as a major after serving 23 years in the US Army. He also spent 35 years as a dedicated State Farm Insurance agent.
He is survived by Norma Dukes, his wife of 58 years; sons, James Miles, Jr. (Wendy) and Lenny Miles, Sr. (Marilynn); daughter, Joni Griffin (Jeff); grandsons, Lenny Miles, Jr. (Patrice), Michael Griffin, Joseph Griffin; granddaughters, Nadia Miles and Olla Miles, and great grandchildren, Cason Miles and Jolie Miles.
The family would like to thank Dr. Cornett and the staff at The Episcopal Church Home for their wonderful care.
A celebration of James’ life will be conducted at 2 pm, Friday March 29, 2013 in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. with entombment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held 2-7 pm Thursday, March 28, 2013 and after 12 noon the day of the service.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in his memory to the Parkinsons Foundation and the KY Humane Society.
