James Richard Nichter, age 71, passed away on April 14, 2022. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky to the late John Nichter and Mary Price on February 8, 1951. James was a 1969 Trinity High School graduate, devout member of the Latter Day Saints, and a Kentucky Colonel. Jefferson County Public Schools employed James as a skilled chef for over 20 years. During this time James owned his own catering service, Nic’s Catering.
James is survived by his loving wife of 12 years Eugenia Sheldon Nichter. His children: Amy Marie Williams (Daniel), Angela Renee Wright, James Strong. Grandchildren: Callie Breann Falvey, Bella Renee Falvey, Zachary Strong. Special cousins: Mary Nichter and Ed Nichter. Also his very special niece, Melissa Koebel. Brother in law, Larry Knust. A host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son Chad Michael Nichter and his brother John “Jack” Nichter.
Visitation will be held on Monday April 18, 2022 from 2PM to 8 PM and the funeral the following day at 10AM located at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home 4400 Bardstown Road Louisville, Kentucky 40218. He will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Park.
