James E. Oliverson, 86, formerly of Ashland, Kansas passed away July 1, 2011 at Norton Suburban Hospital. He was born on August 28, 1924 to the late Ralph and Bertha Foster Oliverson. After Graduating from Kansas State University he pursued his career as a Civil Engineer with the Bureau of Reclamation building various dams across the country. After he retired, he was a consultant with several independent firms as well as the federal government. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII in the South Pacific.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Verdell Oliverson.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Kim Murrison; and his two grandchildren whom were his pride and joy, Cody and Alicia Murrison.
A celebration of his life will be conducted July 9, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Road. Visitation will be from 11:30 until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
