James Harrell Powell, 94, died Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Flora Powell, his son-in-law Vernon Wallace and his wife of 71 years, Marian Lucille Powell. He leaves behind his children Bonnie Wallace (Vernon), Russell Powell (Norene) and Gerald Powell (Sherry), grandchildren Mark Wallace, Doug Powell (Amy), Heather Hibbs (Brian), Lisa Goodwin (Richard), Jamie Powell, Aaron Winters and Andrew Winters, great-grandchildren Lily, Avery, Scarlett, Olivia and Austin.
James proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II. He was a machinist at American Air Filter for 42 years as well as a faithful member of The Believers Church. His hobbies include fishing, building things and meeting his friends for breakfast at McDonald’s.
There will be a private service for his immediate family and a celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and friends.
