James L. Prewitt

James Leon Prewitt, 83, of Louisville, KY, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 with his family by his side. He was born in Harrodsburg, KY to the late Gilbert and Emma Prewitt. He was a self-employed repair service technician and a member of St. Rita Catholic Church.

Jim was preceded in death by his brothers; Clarence, Virgil, Ralph, and Walter Prewitt, sister; Margaret Carr and granddaughter; Shelby Coogle.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 63 years, Shirley Mattingly Prewitt, children; Doug Prewitt(Susan), Dave Prewitt(Rocky), Kathy Prewitt, Diane Russell(John), Don Prewitt(Lori), five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, brother; Bill Prewitt(Faye), sister-in-law; Audrey Mattingly, and a host of many other family and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, October 22, 2015, at 10:00 am at St. Rita Catholic Church, 8709 Preston Hwy. Louisville, KY 40219, with entombment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-8pm at Arch L. Heady and Sons Funeral Home, 8519 Preston Hwy. Louisville KY 40219.
