Jimmy was an excellent mechanic and could diagnose a problem just hearing the car run. He was an avid pool player, and he loved everyone he came into contact with. He was the type of person to give you his last dollar if he felt you needed it more than him.
There was no place that he would rather call home than West Point, KY. He loved to sit on his front porch and watch the town people come and go, and he would always wave even if he didn’t know you. Special thanks to Jim and Mary Cannady for being the type of landlords that treated him like family, he thought very highly of you.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Martin (Ralph); his father, James Smith; and son, William Smith.
He is survived by his children, Cathy Den¬nis (Freddie), James Smith (Diane), Robert Smith (Lisa), Michele McNutt (Timmy), Becky Ramirez-Gonzalez (Rafael), William Arthur (Bernice), Tammy Arthur and Jason White, who was like a son to him; 21 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
His visitation will be on Tuesday from 3pm until 8pm at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with cremation to follow.
