He was a retired Louisville Metro Police Officer, an Army veteran and a member of Lodge 614 FOP.
He is survived by his daughter, Christy Collins (Corey); sister, Carolyn Barnes (Ronald); two grandsons, Destin and Ashton Collins and his very best friend, Gary Scott.
A celebration of Jim's life will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the O. D. White & Sons Funeral Home with interment at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday, 1-8 p.m. and after noon on Thursday at the funeral home.
