Janet spent much of her life in Lansing, Michigan, where she shared 33 wonderful years with her beloved husband, David Jackson, who preceded her in death on March 22, 2019. Janet was devoted to her work and her community she spent 25 years at Holt Senior Care and Rehabilitation, where she cared deeply for the elderly and treated each resident with warmth and compassion.
Later in life, Janet moved to Louisville, Kentucky with her son Jr and his wife Kristina ,where she began a new chapter working as an assembler at GE Appliances. There she met many cherished friends who became like family to her.
Outside of work, Janet’s zest for life shone through in everything she did. She loved dancing and singing along to her favorite Janet Jackson song, “Nasty Boys,” and she never missed a chance to go shopping or explore new baking recipes from Pinterest. She was also a talented knitter and seamstress who found joy in creating and sharing her crafts with loved ones.
Above all, Janet treasured her family. She was a proud and loving mother to Stewart Meddaugh jr, Steven Meddaugh, and her adopted daughter, Shon’Zayla Johnson. She also shared a close bond with her siblings Harold Kuder, Betty Kuder, Leo Kuder and Judy Kuder. Her family and friends will remember her for her kindness, laughter, and the light she brought into every room.
