Jessie graduated from Ahrens Trade High School and was a U.S. Air Force veteran where he served in the Vietnam War. He retired from LG&E. Jessie was a former member and deacon of Ninth and O Baptist Church. He was a current member of Shively Baptist Church.
Jessie is survived by his loving wife, Sandra New; daughters, Cathy New and Jessica Bishop (Chris); granddaughters, Hannah and Hailey Bishop, brother, Ernie L. New (Linda) and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
A service honoring the life of Jessie will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
