Joan was a member of the old Carlisle Ave Baptist Church (now Sojourn Church), where she also worked for many years as the Nursery Coordinator. Joan was in the first graduating class of Iroquois High School.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Richard “Tom” Hettinger; her children Tommy Hettinger, Julie Hettinger, and Lisa Hettinger; brother-in-law Frank Hettinger; and sister-in-law Sharon Hettinger.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:30 Wednesday at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Blvd, followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 pm Tuesday.
