She was born January 28, 1960 in Louisville, the daughter of the late Lawrence G. Sauer Sr. and Verna Elizabeth (Fritsch) Sauer.
Joan worked at Central High School for many years. She enjoyed the holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as crocheting.
Survivors include her husband, Joey McGinnis; two children, Joseph McGinnis and Stefanie McGinnis; three grandchildren, Matthew and Jenna Borcherding and Justin McGinnis; and two sisters, Cuma and Gail Sauer.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 11, 2024 in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady-Cralle Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort Ave. Burial will follow at St. Stephen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.
