Joan Katherine Morris Graves, 88, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021. She retired after 20 years of service from Louisville Naval Ordinance and loved cooking. Joan was famous for her chicken noodle soup, cookies, and tomatoes. She loved all animals, always feeding her squirrels and birds, and gardening. She loved her family very much and enjoyed playing cards with them including poker and pinochle.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Graves, Jr.; parents, Otis Morris and Rosella Schneider; daughter and son-in-law, Diana and LeRoy York; step-son, Buddy Graves; siblings, Vivian Medley, Charles Morris, Pat Morris, and Larry Morris.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Sheila Ramsey (Charles); step-daughter, Joan Brown; grandchildren, Tracy Freville (Chris), Nancy Ciresi (Chris). Chad York, Elaina Coffey (Robert), Crystal Stagner (Eric); great grandchildren, Samantha and Travis Freville, Katie and Brooke Ciresi, Rylee York, Ethan and Evan Coffey, Abigail and Michaela Stagner; brother, Roy Morris (Janet); several step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and close friends.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 at 10:00am at Evergreen Funeral Home with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. The Visitation will be Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 2:00pm – 8:00pm at the funeral home. Live streaming will begin at 9:45am at Facebook page Evergreen Funeral Home and Evergreen Cemetery.
Per CDC guidelines and the governor mandates masks and social distancing are required.
Memorial donation in Joan’s honor should be directed to the Kentucky Humane Society.
