Joan C. Townsend

She was born January 11, 1938 in Palmer, MA. Joan formerly worked at Farm Credit Bank. She was a member of Immanuel UCC for 53 years

and enjoyed singing in the choir. Joan loved her family, loved her church, traveling and the beach.

She is preceded in death by her parents; E. James Cole and Mildred Potter Cole and her brother E. James Cole Jr.

Joan is survived by her husband of 55 years, Richard Mason Townsend, her two daughters, Cheryl Ann Townsend (Cindi) and Sandra T Clare (David). She is also survived by her sister; Linda Cole and three grandsons, Evan Cole, Kyle Mason, Connor David Clare and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to celebrate Joan’s life will be conducted at 12 noon on Saturday, February 10, 2018 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road with entombment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Guests are invited to attend a visitation from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2018.
