Well, my family had the fortune of meeting the Boland family when our daughter was in preschool with William, one of the triplets. What amazed me about John was the fact that he never was around many kids before they had the boys and after having not one, but three sweet boys, you'd never believe he hadn't been around kids. It was as if that 'job' was just for him. I also remember taking my mom to a school function where she really didn't know anyone. Who would stop, sit and carry a conversation with her, but John. Being firefighters, he also gave us an old leather fire helmet of which sits upon a curio cabinet not letting a day go by that we don't see John. Thank you John for your kindness and your love!

I have so many stories I can share about John, I don't know where to begin. He and I worked together for almost 10 years producing local cable commercials and he was the first person I would speak to every day. The story that always comes to mind is when John came back from a commercial shoot all shook up and pale. He had stopped at a gas station to buy his Diet Mountain Dew and when he stepped away from the cooler with it in hand, a homeless man was right there next to him & walked right up to John face-to-face and just stared at him then walked away after 10 seconds or more. John put the drink back into the cooler and walked out the door and drove back to our office. When he came in I asked what was wrong with him and he started this story with "I think someone just stole my soul..." He then proceeded to tell it in the eloquent way only John could. I have many others and will post them as well. Happy birthday John, I really miss you buddy!

Betsy, I dont know if you remember me but I worked with you and John at Chi Chi's in Bowling Green a long long time ago. I was just thinking about you guys today and someone told me about John. I have some pics on my facebook I would love to get to you somehow. I just went thru the pics you have on here. I know it must be so hard right now for you and your family. My prayers are with you. After looking at the pics I see John was soooo sooo happy. You two had a wonderful life. Please let me know what I can do for you and how to get those pics to you. All my love and my prayers.

So sorry to hear about John. We graduated high school together. He was a great friend to have because he never judged and was kind to everyone. Last time we talked he was so proud of his boys. He will be missed.

We are so sorry for your loss. We lived across from you on Elizabeth Street when the children were young. Maura and I spent time together sitting on the front steps visiting and watching John and Michael run around the neighborhood playing with other children. You were all missed when you moved away. We were not aware that Ann had passed away. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers.
