John was an Army Veteran. During his time in the Army, he was stationed in Germany where he met his wife, Fanny. He took great pride in retiring from Ford Motor Company and building his dream lake home where he spent his last years in retirement with Fanny.
He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting deer, duck, turkey, competitive bass tournaments, and leisure fishing. He also loved to spend time with his wife Fanny in their boat on Barren River Lake. John loved helping his neighbors and friends at the lake from handyman tasks to helping maintain boat docks. When he was not outdoors, he could be found watching old war movies and enjoying homemade desserts and meals prepared by his wife. John loved to joke around with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
