John Arthur, 68, passed away Wednesday September 19, 2012 at his home.
John was born to the late James I. and Anna Conway French October 21, 1943 in Louisville. He retired from Ford –LAP after many years of dedicated employment in the Assembly/General Stores Department. What he was most known for was being a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who met him.
Sisters, Sis Dewitt, Bea Ray; and brothers, James and Tommy French precede him in death.
Left to carry on his wonderful memory are children, Tammy Cate (Rick) and Tim French (Brent Porter); and their mother, Effie Jo French; along with grandchildren, Ricki Jo and Clayton Cate, and Madison Jolee French Porter. Also his long time companion, Frances Perry; siblings, Bill and Bobby French, Dorothy Bowling, Margaret McFelia, Laura Huffman and Patsy Hays; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A service celebrating the life of John will be noon Saturday at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
