

He was preceded in death by his beloved first wife Tillie Jean Gilpin, his beloved second wife Alice (Tootie) Gilpin and his son Ricky.
He was an avid deer hunter, fisherman and general outdoors person. He retired from TriAngle Sheet Metal Company after many dedicated years of service.
He is survived by his daughters Cathy Federspiel (Dru), Teresa Morgan (George) and Sherry Ryan (Jim) and by his sons Dale Gilpin and Chuck Gilpin (Allie). He had 12 grand children and 23 great grand children, 2 step children Ronnie Turner (Debbie), Terry Turner (Wanda) and their families.
Visitation will be held at Arch L. Heady Funeral home at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY , on Thursday December 29th from 3 until 7 PM. A memorial service will take place Friday, December 30th at 10 AM in the chapel in the Funeral Home, with entombment following at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Memorial donations can be made to Hosparus of Louisville, who so diligently assisted John and his family throughout his illness. The family also wishes to thank his entire family and friends for prayers and visitations during his illness.
