

John Steven Greenup, 59, left suddenly to be with our Lord on August 28, 2015. He was born in Springfield, OH on December 26, 1955 to Windel and Rosemary Greenup. He grew up in Winter Park, Florida, Indianapolis and then in Louisville. He currently lived in Oldham County with his wife of 21 years, Donna and their dog, Peanut. Both loves of his life.
John had BA and MBA degrees from U of L but was most proud of his decision at 47 to return to law school. He was awarded his J.D. from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law in 2007. John was an associate with James L. Fine, Attorney for the past five years specializing in Estate Planning and Administration and Business Law. Prior to that, he held marketing positions with KFC, Grisanti Corp., Kentucky Lottery Corporation and Derby Supply Chain Solutions. He was an active member of Business Networking International South Oldham Chapter. John remained friends with many of his former associates through the years, as he was a person who cared and wanted to stay in touch.
His charitable works included many years on the Tri-County, Oldham County and Greater Louisville Habitat for Humanity boards. He also served the Oldham-LaGrange Development Agency. John and Donna are members of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in LaGrange.
John was preceeded in death by his father, Windel.
John is survived by his wife, Donna and his mother, Rosemary. He is also survived by his in-laws, Charles and Sylbia Warren, Donna's brother Chuck and wife, Sharon, and their sons and wives and their children and grandchildren. He is also survived by "brothers by other mothers" Peter Pearlman and Jim Philpitt, his "sister" Pamela Marlette, uncles, aunts, cousins and many, many friends and colleagues.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Monday, August 31, 2015 at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3 - 8 pm on Sunday, August 30 and from 10am - noon on Monday, August 31 at the funeral home.
