My Papaw was a blessing in my life. He has always been good to me, (except when he was a turd)...haha! For the last near 8 years, myself and Jeremiah were given the honor of being his primary caregivers. He felt it was the ultimate gift we could ever give him. We on the other hand felt he was gifting us generously with wisdom, compassion, patience, love, and great stories of the past. We have a true emptiness in our home now and feel like we've lost one of our children but I have the peace in my heart knowing he made it to heaven. I was involved in more conversations during his last few months that allowed me to be apart of his spiritual healing and renewed mind that only God can give. I feel so blessed and assured that God is good all of the time and can heal very deep wounds with ease. He began to forgive past hurts and forgive himself for past mistakes. He can teach us all something, not to hold on to grudges and value and cherish each and everyday as if it is our last. I thank the true angels that came to assist him when I physically couldn't anymore and that is Doris and Hosparus Health. You all are true angels doing God's holy work and for this I'm grateful. Thank you papaw for always being the best grandfather a grandaughter could ever ask for, even when you didn't have to be. Thank you for always seeing the good in me even when I was human and lost my patience! You will always hold a special place in my heart. Until we meet again....Love always!
P.S. I'll always think of you when I see the awesome sunrises from your living room window, like this one!

Uncle JM was my favorite uncle. My mother was his only sister and they were very close. Before he married he would vacation with us at Lake Waccamaw NC. It was the highlight of my summer as a child. He was such a good, gentle, fun person to spend time with. He was an extremely generous and thoughtful uncle and there were always special Christmas gifts for his family. He taught me a lot about life. He was a exceptionally strong Christian man and I will always love and respect him.

My biggest memory of Papaw was when he brought his photo album from WWII, and shared each memory like it was yesterday with me at my parents kitchen table. Such an amazing man! He will be dearly missed, but basking in the glory of God.

My siblings and I knew him as “Uncle J. M. “ and he was our favorite uncle. We loved going to his and Micki’s house to visit when we were little. He talked to us like we were valued and his gentle disposition put us instantly at ease. We love him and are so grateful for his influence in our lives.
