He was born to Harold and Dorothy Pike in East Liverpool, Ohio.
John moved to Louisville and met his wife, Martha Hornung and have been married for 47 years. He retired from Brown & Williamson as a mechanic.
He is survived by his wife Martha, children, Angela Sheppard and Charles Rowley (Mary), 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation is Friday, October 27, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road.
A celebration of John's life will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the funeral home followed by interment at Resthaven Memorial Park.
