He served as a tail gunner for the Army Air Corps during World War II, and was the founder of John Stewart Promotions (KY Flea Market).
John is preceded in death by his wife; Nell Stewart.
He is survived by his sons; Terry Stewart (Ann) and Lex A. Stewart (Jennifer) a brother; Frank A. Stewart (Maggie), 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Belmont Village for their excellent care.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2012 in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. with an entombment at Resthaven Memorial Park. A visitation will be held 4-8 pm, Monday January 23, 2012
