He was preceded in death by his parents, John Theodore Wacker & Mary Elizabeth Mulloy Wacker, along with his wife of 66 years, Evelyn; beloved grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Arnold Mulloy; and Uncle, Bud Mulloy.
John served his country as a Staff Sargent in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was stationed in both Germany and England. He retired from the U.S. Naval Ordinance after serving for over 30 years. Along with his wife Evelyn, John was a longtime member of Longfield United Baptist Church.
Left to cherish his memory, his children, Ronald J. Wacker (Lorraine), Gary L. Wacker, & Steven G. Wacker; grandchildren, Karen, Lisa, Michelle, Andrea, Brian, David, Lauren, Amber, & Jonathan; 23 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation, Monday, February 8, 11am-12pm Noon, with a funeral service at 12pm in the Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 8519 Preston Hwy. Burial will follow at Lone Hill Cemetery.
The family understands that the current pandemic makes it difficult for friends and family to be present for services.
