Joni Brosché Schaefer

Joni enjoyed spending her time volunteering at Eastern Area Community Ministries and Shively Area Ministries, as well as Everyone Reads for JCPS. She loved spending weekends at Lake Cumberland, having quality time with her family and friends, traveling, and being with her beloved pets Lucy and Suzanna.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her loving husband Larry Schaefer, her children, Alex Schaefer of Ft. Collins, CO and Kali Schaefer of Charleston, SC, and her sister Julia Ehlers (Michael), of Houston, TX. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews: Melissa Ehlers, Brian Schaefer, Elizabeth Cycak, Lauren, Paul, Alan and Garrett Schaefer and Alicia Thompson.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 4-8 at Arch L. Heady and son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd, and a celebration of life service held on Friday at 6:30 pm with visitation starting at 4:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Eastern Area Community Ministries or Shively Area Ministries.
