He retired after many years as a truck driver for Local 89.
Joseph left behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 56 years Frances Downs.
He is also survived by his children Teresa Keown (Tim), Joseph Downs Jr. (Beth), Gary Downs (Cindy) and David Downs, grandchildren Joey Downs (Stacey), Gary Downs Jr., Daniel Price (Audrey), David Price and Kathy Downs (Matt), great grandchildren Madison and Caiden and sisters Ramona, LaVern and Shirley.
A service honoring the life of Joseph will be held Thursday at Evergreen Funeral Home at 2pm. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-8pm at the funeral home.
