Joy was my next-door neighbor for a number of years, and I couldn't have asked for a better one. I loved our chats on her patio, usually cut short by a beautiful white dog wanting her attention. She was always so kind, and I loved hearing her tell her stories of back home in England. I hated it for her when she became the last of a group of ladies she socialized with in our condo complex, and I missed her when she moved to senior living. She was a good, good person, and I'm honored to have known her. Susan, I know you are heartbroken, but you were so attentive to her. No daughter could have done more. God bless you and your family, and Joy, I know you are safe in the arms of the lord. I hope to see you when I cross over. Thank you for being my friend.

Hello Joy,

It’s Lynne, I’m writing to send my love to your family, as they lay you to rest.
I hope you don’t mind, I sent along a photo of The Sherlock girls, good god taken in the 70’s, when you guys came to our place to see Nan . My memory is so clear of the happiness in the house when you were all together. Lots of laughs.
A close family, always there for one another, it was easy for us to model ourselves after you guys, and I want to thank you for that. Family is always, and still is number one. Having said that, I’m sorry I never met your extended family, whom you talked about when we were together last at Jessie’s.
I’m sure you four will be together again soon.
Lots of love doll...Lynne

I remember a story my uncle told me of Joy, Jessie and Edith who all resided in Upton Village on the Wirral.

He said every young man knew the home where the three most beautiful girls in the village lived.

Joy, Jessie and my mum Edith, were sisters who lived through a war and in the end, each married a serviceman.

They were beautiful in looks and in soul. We miss them every day. Joy, Rest In Peace.
