Joyce F Wempe Karnes

She was born in Blue Ridge, GA on July 5, 1942. She was the daughter of Fred Wempe and Anna Guenther, who preceded her in death. Joyce had retired from the Jefferson County Jail as a corrections officer, was a member of the FOP and a member of Green Acres Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 55 years, Jackie, and her two sons, Danny and Ricky (Jamie) Karnes. One grandson, Tyler Karnes, and brothers Fred, James, Dan and Charles Wempe.

A Celebration of Joyce’s life will be Saturday June 15, 2013 at Arch L Heady-Russman funeral home at 10:00AM, with burial at Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 on Friday at the funeral home.
