A 1964 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, Joyce carried forward a steady dedication to doing things well and doing them with care. That same dependable spirit shaped her working life, including more than 25 years with Buisson Investments, where her hard work and integrity were evident in all she undertook.
On November 12, 1966, she met and married the love of her life, Lynn Schneider. Together they shared 32 beautiful years of marriage, building a life grounded in devotion, honesty, and the quiet strength of showing up for one another day after day. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Schneider.
Joyce’s creativity was a constant presence in her life. She loved crafting and crocheting, and she delighted in the simple satisfaction of word searches and Sudoku. Many will remember her contentment in familiar comforts—watching Dr. Phil and the Hallmark Channel on repeat, with a Sprite Zero or a Chocolate Milkshake close at hand. Her thoughtfulness shone through in the things she made and shared, including the plastic canvas holiday baskets she enjoyed creating for family and friends.
She gave generously of her time as a volunteer at Fern Creek Highview United Ministries in their Adult Day Program. She was also involved at Forest Park Community Church, where she participated in the 55 plus monthly luncheons—offering, in her own steady way, a selfless presence and a sincere care for others that never sought attention.
Joyce is survived by her children, Bill Schneider (Beth), Stephanie Smith (Eric), Corey Schneider (Dedra); seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Denise Hardin (Jeff) and her favorite Goddaughter, Amanda McGrath (Keith); Godson, Phil Kruer (Cindy) and adopted daughter, Tammy Collins.
Services will be held privately and she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Lynn.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hosparus of Louisville and/or Fern Creek Highview United Ministries.
