Joyce Ann Neagle Williams passed away on September 29, 2026 surrounded by the love of her “Favorite People” after a brief illness at Baptist Health in Louisville, KY. Joyce was born on April 6, 1936 in Oldham County, Kentucky to the late Clayton Ivra Neagle, Sr. and Annie Sarah Beckner Neagle.
She will be fondly remembered as a woman of faith, and a feisty and fashionable lady. She was preceded in death by her husband Quincy Ray Williams and her brothers Calvin, Leland, Billy, and Clayton Neagle, Jr. as well as a sister, Gladys Trice.
Joyce was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ and was a member at Fern Creek Christian Church. She loved gospel singing as well as the music of Daniel O’Donnell. She was an avid adventurer, and was always willing to go on the next trip. Joyce had a heart of gold and adored her family and friends. She was eager to visit with them and hear about their lives, or play a game of cards or Scrabble. She was a retired school teacher and was passionate about learning and teaching others.
She is survived by her sister, Beverly Denton (Don); Nephews, John Neagle (Tammy); Michael Saxton (Ralna), Derrick Neagle (Candice) Marvin T. Mattingly, and Ricky Mattingly (Iris). Nieces - Pam Neagle, Jennifer Neagle-Fugate (Jeff), her namesake Amanda Joyce Watt (Derek), and Teresa Sowders (Buck). She is also survived by her great nephews Riley Saxton, Jonathan Pulliam, Hayden Fugate (Abby), Clayton (CJ) Watt, and Gaven Adams (Tonya); and great nieces Sarah Burch (Zach), Hanna Neagle, Annie Neagle, Julia Flores (Mannie) and Maddie Grace Neagle. She is also survived by her loving canine companion Jacque.
A service to honor Joyce will be 2 PM Friday, October 2, 2026 at Arch L Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40218. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10-2 PM at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest 11 AM Saturday, October 3 at Resthaven Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice of charity.
