Joyce Ann (Likins) Wise

She was born in Louisville to the late Leona and Owen Likins on October 6, 1932. She attended most Blessed Sacrament and graduated from Presentation Academy in 1950. Joyce married the love of her life, the late Joseph B. Wise, Jr, in 1951. Together for over 60 years they raised a family of 7 children. Throughout her life, Joyce took on many roles, Mother and Grandmother.

She was blessed with the “Gift of Gab” and never met a stranger or turned down a charitable cause. Before her retirement, She served as President of National Reinforcing Steel Company in the construction of many of Kentucky’s infrastructure projects. Joyce was a member of Saint Bernadette Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband Joe of 60 years, a grandchild Nathaniel, a sister Shirley and her loving parents, Owen and Leona Likins.

Joyce is survived by her children, Pamela Palmquist (Jeff), Roxanne Buttorff (Rick), Brenda Daly (Patrick), Joseph B. Wise III (Debbie), David Wise (Carolyn), Douglas Wise (Deanna) and Jeffrey Wise (Chris). She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and a sister, Rose McDonogh (Paul).

The Family would like to thank the caregivers, Leesa Card, Mary Dell George, Susan Davenport and Hosparus for the loving care that was provided to her in her final year of life.

A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 10am on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Saint Bernadette Catholic Church, 6500 St. Bernadette Ave, Prospect KY 40059 with an interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Guests are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, March 14, 2022 from 2pm - 8pm at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Louisville KY 40222.
