She passed peacefully at her home in Mount Washington, KY surrounded by family and friends.
She grew up in South Louisville and graduated from Ahrens High School. She made a lifelong career with White Castle Company retiring in 2006, after 40 years of service. She enjoyed traveling with friends and family, Las Vegas being one of her favorite places to visit, with the exception of her many trips to Washington, DC to visit her son Chuck. Her love of family was her greatest joy.
She was preceded in death by her husband Terry Matillar and parents Iva and Eula Hill and brother James Hill.
She is survived by sister Joyce Bailey and sister in-law Joyce Hill. She was a loving mother to Terri Thompson (William) and Charles Wooldridge, Jr (Rohn Armstrong), loving step daughter Stefana Farley (Vernon) and grandmother to Brittany Hicks (Jason), Billy Thompson (Tana), and great grandmother to Kerrigan Keith (Patrick), Kaitlynn Hicks, Chance Keith, Gabby Keith, and Addi Hicks and Lola her beloved fur baby. She shared a special relationship with her nieces Cindy, Stacey, Tonya, Rhonda, Kim and Dana, as well as the love she had for Kerin Jones and her beautiful children. She leaves behind dear friend LaVerne Wingfield and her River Pointe and River Crest families.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Heady – Hardy Funeral Home on Dixie Hwy. Entombment will follow in the St. Philip Mausoleum of the Evergreen Cemetery & Garden Mausoleums. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. and then again on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:30 p.m. also at the Heady – Hardy Funeral Home on Dixie Hwy.
