MCWHORTER, JULIA M. STOCHAY “JUDY”, 93, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2016. Julia was a former member of Beechmont Baptist Church and a faithful current member of West Broadway Baptist Church where she participated in choirs at both. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years Olin McWhorter. Julia leaves behind to cherish her memory her children Douglas McWhorter (Shari), Rodney McWhorter (Nancy) and Dr. Lynette Dena Fitzpatrick (Royce), grandchildren Eric McWhorter (Rebecca), Lyle McWhorter, Sarah Hayes (James), Drew McWhorter (Alisha), Kerri McWhorter and Lana McWhorter and great grandchildren Kai McWhorter, Bella McWhorter and Aubrey McWhorter. She is also survived by her niece Carolyn Laugherty. A service to honor the life of Julia will be held Thursday at 12pm in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4-8pm at the funeral home.
