Kaden Patrick Givens, age 20, of Louisville, Kentucky, left this earth on Monday, December 29, 2025, leaving behind a love so deep it can never be measured and a light that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him.
Born on December 15, 2005, Kaden is the treasured son of Nathan and Jennifer (Johnson) Givens and the proud big brother to his sisters, Kinlee and Karsyn. They loved each other with their whole hearts, and their bond is special and unbreakable- beyond time, beyond space, and beyond this life.. He prayed for a sister and was blessed with two; Kinlee and Karsyn were his first friends, and their happiness was always on his mind, even as he lovingly gave them space to grow into who they were meant to be. From the moment he arrived, he changed his family’s world forever with his
gentle spirit, tender heart, quick wit, and the kind of smile that lit up every room, one you felt as much as you saw. We were, and always will be, endlessly proud to be his parents.
Kaden loved deeply and lived authentically. He carried a compassion beyond his years and noticed the people most others overlooked. He was thoughtful, fiercely loving, protective, spiritual, sensitive in the most beautiful way, wonderfully funny, and incredibly brave. He had a gift for making others feel seen, valued, and loved.
Music was woven into the fabric of who Kaden was. A gifted, self-taught drummer and evolving vocalist, he poured emotion into every beat and every note. Whether he was filling a room with
sound, laughing with his family, or simply sitting quietly with someone he loved, Kaden had a way of making presence feel like a gift. Those who heard him play, who sat beside him, who knew him- will carry his rhythm in their hearts forever.
Kaden is deeply loved and will forever be cherished by his parents, Nathan and Jennifer; his sisters, Kinlee and Karsyn; grandparents John and Cindy Johnson, Suzanne Elston (Joe), and Patrick Givens; aunts and uncles Michelle (Jamie) Ecken, Candy Givens, Kyle Givens, Jackie Carter (Craig), and Jennifer Elston; cousins Brady and Olivia Ecken; and his beloved soulmate, Brianca Wilson, his best friend and constant source of love, laughter, and understanding. He is reunited in love with his uncle, Jody Elston & his great-grandparents.
Kaden was loved far beyond his immediate family, surrounded by a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins who adored him. His cousin Brady was his brother in spirit and his truest friend, and playing in a band with Brady and his cousin Garrett was one of the places his soul felt most alive. It fueled his dreams, filled his spirit, and together they created memories & music that will live on forever.
His family and all who love him will always carry the ache of missing his hugs, his laughter, his music, his presence and the way he made life brighter just by being in it. Kaden’s absence will be felt in every beat of the hearts who love him, and he will be missed beyond measure.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, January 5, 2026 at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd., Louisville, KY 40222. A service celebrating Kaden’s life will take place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, in the Duncan Memorial Chapel at Floydsburg Cemetery. Burial will follow at Floydsburg Cemetery in Crestwood, Kentucky.
Expressions of sympathy may be shared through acts of kindness or generosity done in Kaden’s memory. From the time he was a little boy, Kaden’s heart ached for people who were hurting or unseen, and he never hesitated to help someone in need. Loving others the way he did - especially the overlooked - would honor him beautifully
