Schmidt, Karl Sr., 83, of Louisville passed from this life on Monday April 9, 2012 at Signature Health Care. He was retired from the Fort Knox, and an Army veteran. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 850 and the Kosair Shrine, President of Hoosier Knob Car club, and an active member of The Kosair Shrine Street Machines, and the Middle Tennessee Studebaker Drivers Club. He was preceded in death by his parents Rudolph Sr. and Martha Schmidt, his brother Rudolph Jr. and sister Carolyn Schmidt.He is survived by his wife, Nellie Schmidt; Son Karl Jr. Schmidt (Marie); grandsons, Jeremy (Sara), David, and Karl III; a great-grandson, Colton; step-daughters, Violet Hamilton (Jim), Bettie Engler (Rick), Pat O’Connell, Brenda Roque (Cesar), and Linda Esparza (Marc); step-son, Henry Newton Jr. (Carlyon); 16 step-grandchildren; and 28 step-great-grandchildren; and his furry babies Lucky and sissy.A service to celebrate Karl’s life will be held at 10am Saturday in the Southern Chapel of Arch L.
