

Katherine was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Golden Kenneth Jackson, her infant son Kevin Keith Jackson, and her brother David Tharp. She is survived by her children Ken (Pinky) Jackson, Kathy (Pat) Nauert, Keena (Mike) Childress, and Dennis Jackson; her grandchildren Kenny, Victoria, and Gabe Jackson; Shelby and Sara Jackson; Katherine, Jackson and Jacob Nauert; Shaylee Lynn and Thomas Michael Childress; Her brothers Don (Mary) Tharp, Rob (Sandy) Tharp, and Frank Tharp; as well as nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.
Big Doll enjoyed being the “Bell of the Ball”, and loved her Country Line Dancing. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. In addition to, she enjoyed portraying “Marilyn Monroe” as a fun side act. Big Doll’s most precious accomplishment was being an Officers Wife and being married for 49 years to the love of her life to the “General”. She will truly be missed by all.
It is hoped, that in her honor, she will find peace in her journey and awareness will be raised for others struggling with Mental Health/Addiction problems.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 16, at 2 pm at Evergreen Dignity Chapel. A Visitation will be Thursday from 10am - 8pm and Friday from 12pm - 2pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers or any expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Katherine & Golden Jackson Scholarship Fund and dropped off at any PNC Bank or mailed to 2838 Shoemaker Drive, Louisville KY 40241. Additionally envelopes will be available at Evergreen Funeral Home.
The family would like to give a special Thank You and Love to Aunt Mary and Papa Don Tharp for their relentless effort throughout this journey.
