Kathleen Jean Stelzig

Kathleen Jean Stelzig, 95, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on June 13, 2026, surrounded by her family and friends. Born August 9, 1930, in Rosewood, KY, Kathleen was the daughter of Omer & Floella Whitaker.

Throughout her life, Kathleen found deep meaning in the steady comforts of faith, family, and fellowship. She loved reading, traveling, and she especially cherished time spent with those she loved—gatherings that included picnics on Independence School Road with family, church family, and friends. Her days were often filled with the uplifting presence of Christian music, and her greatest joy was winning souls to the Lord.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Stelzig; her great-granddaughter, Rachel Marie Milburn; and her son-in-law, Greg McCoy.

Kathleen is survived by her children, Patricia Gail Milburn (Stanley), Marlene McCoy, and Charles Edward Ray Stelzig (Maggie); grandchildren, Stan Jr., Patricia, Mark, Melanie, Leslie; great-grandchildren, Pamela, Alyssa, Joshua, Morgan, Jacob, Nora, Cole, Kieran, Riley, John, and Lucy; great-great-grandchildren, Rayleigha, Aiers, Declan, Lucian, Adley, Keenan; sister, Faye Wilson; brother, Jimmy Whitaker; and extended family, Amy Dobben (Jim), Elijah, Ethan, Emma, Rob McGuffey (Melissa), Evie, and Elliot.

Funeral service will be 12:00 pm Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218 with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, June 19, 2026, held at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218.
