A resident of Waddy, Kentucky, Kathryn will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection—an admired presence whose steady faith and loyal devotion shaped the lives of those who knew and loved her.
Born on January 28, 1926, Kathryn was the daughter of the late Walter and Lucille (Alvey) Jenkins. She was a kind-hearted, selfless spirit—meeting each season of her long and meaningful life with steadfast purpose, compassionate care for others, and the warmth of a well-timed sense of humor that could lighten even ordinary moments.
Kathryn devoted more than 35 years of hard work to South Central Bell Telephone Company, serving with consistency, integrity, and pride. Her dedication reflected not only a strong work ethic, but also an inspirational example of perseverance and responsibility—values she lived rather than announced.
For more than 40 years, Kathryn shared marriage with Kermit Gross, a partnership marked by enduring commitment and deep devotion. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Gross, and her brother, Bob Jenkins.
Kathryn’s life was enriched by community and fellowship. She held memberships with Oxmoor Country Club, the Red Hat Society, Middletown Christian Church, Pioneers of America, and Kosair Shriners, and she was an avid golfer. In these circles, her adventurous spirit and cherished kindness were evident—welcoming others with genuine thoughtfulness and leaving behind the impression of someone both beloved and sincerely good.
Kathryn is survived by her son, Michael Williams; grandchildren, Brittany Williams, Ashley Samples (Kyle), and Bradley Williams; 8 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Betty O’Bryan.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026 from 12:00/Noon until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home (4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218).
