He retired from Dean’s Milk in 2006 after 28 years of service. He also proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1963-1969, attaining the rank of Sergeant, and was decorated as a Rifle Marksman.
He was a Catholic by faith, loved wood-working, Nascar racing, trains, and Kentucky sports.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Betty J Byron; sons, Troy Byron (Laura) and Todd Byron; grandchildren, Kayla (Dustin) Lewis and Lindsay Byron; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Arch L Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Private burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.
