Kenneth Lee Gilpin Sr.

Kenneth Lee Gilpin, Sr. was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was deeply loved and known as “Dude” by the grandchildren.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a retiree from Johnson Controls, Battery Division, Carnes Trucking, and Jefferson Special Security in Louisville, KY. He loved to shop the gun stores and be in the presence of his family.

He is preceded in death by his father, Orville Gilpin; mother, Catherine Clark; and brother, Henry Eugene “Gene” Gilpin. Survived by wife, Anna B. Gilpin; daughters, Cathy Gilpin Stasel (Ricky); Kendra Gilpin Wheeler (Darrin-deceased) and son, Kenneth Lee Gilpin, Jr. (Marti). He is also survived by five grandchildren, Craig Wheeler; Toni Wheeler Chaudoin (Jonathan); Dana Wheeler Meador (Nick); Aaron Stasel and Rachel Stasel; and two great-grandchildren, Addi Chaudoin and Ella Meador.

A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 1pm-4pm at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Hwy, Louisville, KY. Memorial donations in his memory can be made to the KY Humane Society.

I m so sit for your loss if this most amazing wonderful smart funny loving man. I know your hearts are breaking and well there just aren’t any words please know that we love you all and will be keep you in our prayers

My Uncle Kenny was one of the coolest men I knew growing up and I am so thankful for all the memories over the years of visits, yayzee games, Jokes, talks about guns and freedom and mostly how he truly loved his wife who by the way was just a cool as he was ❤️ There was never any doubt about how much he loved his kids grandkids and great grandkids nieces, nephews and friends. And loved the many times talking to you on the phone and you never failed to ask me if my hand was ok ? What ? Oh I thought it was broken or you forgot how to dial my phone number ha ha you will always have a special place in my heat Uncle Kenny and I can only imagine the joy and freedom from pain right now. Please tell my husband Donnie or as you nick named him Don Don and my mom and Dad hello for me

I worked with Ken many years, at Carnes we called him Mr Magoo. he always brought the life to the conversation. He was a great man in all ways. He will be greatly missed. To his family you all are in our thoughts and prayers during this hard time.
