Kevil had a lifelong passion for car racing. He was an active member of Chuck Winders pit crew at the Louisville Motor Speedway and proudly served as his son Josh’s Crew Chief at Sportsdrome Speedway. He never missed the legendary 3-Hour World Figure 8 Championship at the Indianapolis Speedrome and could always be found cheering on his favorite drivers with excitement and pride.
Kevil lived a life marked by hard work, generosity, and love. He proudly served his community as a dedicated truck driver and volunteer firefighter, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He also found great joy in his work with Seneca High School, where he touched countless lives with his kindness, humor, and steady presence.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Kevil’s greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Mary “Cathy” Rice; his children, Heather Reed (Thomas), Josh Rice, Ashley Rice, and Alicia Rice (Michael); grandchildren, Kameron, Gabriella, Michael, and Joseph; and great-grandchildren, Amelia and Alaïa. He also leaves behind his siblings, Debbie Rogers (Hal), Rick Rice (Carla), and Jason Rice (Missy), along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever remember his warm heart and quick smile.
