Kimberly Karr

LOUISVILLE - Kimberly S. Karr passed away peacefully in her sleep in the company of her beloved dog and cat. Kim was born in Louisville on September 24, 1959. She was the daughter of Janet and Duane Karr, both now deceased, and grew up in Louisville. Kim graduated from Marion C. Moore High School and she earned her nursing degree from Eastern Kentucky University. Kim was a Staff RN and an Operating Room RN at Norton Healthcare from December 31, 1980 to December 31, 2007, and she was a Disease Management RN at Humana Military Healthcare Services from December 31, 2006 until December 31, 2012. Colleagues that worked with her described her as an excellent nurse. She loved caring for her dog and cat, cooking, tending to her flowers and antiquing with her mother. She is survived by her brother Dennis Karr and his wife Sharon, their daughters Tara and Erin and their families, her aunt Norma Beck and uncle John Chalek and their children and families, and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at the Arch L. Heady Funeral Home at Resthaven Memorial Park on Friday, April 12 beginning at 12:15 pm. Visitation will take place before the service starting at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or the American Cancer Society.
