Kimberly Leigh Yates

Kim Yates,age 59, passed away January 17, 2025. Kim was born October 04, 1965 to John and Marion Homeister (Wyatt) in Louisville, KY. Kim was a Daughter, Momma, Step momma, Momma Kim to many of her kids friends, Sister, Aunt, Niece, Nana, and Friend.

Kim graduated in 1983 from Waggener High school. She went to school at JCC to become a CNA. Later becoming a florist at Susan’s florist. Then found her love for truck driving for 16 years becoming “LadyBug”.

Kim enjoyed many things in life. She loved crafts, crocheting, bowling, playing pool, karaoke, cards, weekends at the lake.

Remembering the smile behind the camera. Always taking pictures and holding on to memories! She was a very loving and beautiful soul.

In the past 10 years Kim suffered many illnesses that disabled her physically and mentally. She put up a fight that many would have given up on. Her love for her family kept her going. She won her long battle and now gets to walk with Jesus and be free from pain and sickness.

She is survived by her Father John Homeister. Sister Melinda (Homeister) Alvis. Children Brandee and Robin Burgin, Jason and Shatoya Yates, Tyra and Terra Holt, and SkeKendra Nicholson. Nephews Darius, Tyree, and Kaiden Wilson. Aunts Shirley Montgomery and Brenda Homeister. Grandkids Telaysia,Terrodjah, Tristan, Julia, Justine, Jeremiah. Great Grandkids Nehemiah and Paris. As well as a few best friends but many special friends and bonus children.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Marion Homeister (Wyatt) and Grandparents.

A visitation for Kimberly will be held Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 7410 Westport Road, Louisville, KY 402224100, followed by a funeral service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
