Larney Eugene "Gene" Wesley Jr.

Mr. Larney Eugene “Gene” Wesley Jr. passed away after his short but courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Baptist Health of Louisville. He was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on November 11, 1947 to Larney Eugene Sr. and Margaret Hortense Wesley. Gene received his undergraduate degree from the University of Louisville and in 1986 received his MBA from there as well. He proudly served his country in the Army Reserve for six years and spent many years working as a vice president of CoBank.

Gene leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 30 years, Anita Wood Wesley; daughters, Christi Michelle Harper and Melissa Wesley Ruwe (Brian); son, Alex M. Wesley; brothers, Dan Wesley (Dee) and Tim Wesley (Teena); grandchildren, Caitlynn Harper, Madisynn Harper, Emmalynn Vanmeter, Michael Huston Embry, Aspynn Dunaway, Masin Callis, Cameron Barrick; 3 great grandchildren; and good friend, Mike Mathews.

He is preceded in passing by his parents and his daughter, Lori Dawn Colucci.

A visitation will be held from 12 to 5 PM on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the Arch L. Heady Funeral Home at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd., Louisville, Ky. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, February 5, 2018 at the funeral home with committal service to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.
