He served in the Army from 1967 to 1970; the thing he was most proud of was being a parachutist. Larry was known for his G.E. service for 38 years. He graduated from U of L and was an avid U of L fan. He also loved coaching, basketball and baseball with his grandchildren. Larry was also a big fan of the Beatles.
Larry is preceded in death by his sister, Denise Tingle.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Martha Faye Basham; children, Stephanie Dee Baldauf and Larry Scott Basham(Jennifer); and brothers Ronnie Rice and Daniel Rice. He also leaves his 9 grandchildren, Brittney, Kayla, Chelsey, Katie, Hannah (Zach), Abby, Brooklynn, Noah, and Brayden; and 9 great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass for Larry will be held at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church at 11 am on Wednesday with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. The visitation will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm Tuesday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home.
The family asks that all donations be made to Hospice.
