Born to the late Ora Keown Bellamy and Lee Ola Denton Bellamy, Larry is also preceded in death by his adoring wife, Dorothy Marie Tyree Bellamy; his sister Rose Carolyn Arnold; and his beloved dog, Tigger.
Here to carry on his memory are his daughters, Ola Mae Bellamy and Rose Marie Powell (Chris Benn); his grandsons, Kris Powell (Nicole) and Ryan Powell; his great-grandchildren, Alexcia, Memphis, Brody, and Ezra; his furry best friend, Snuggles; his dear friends, Harley and Joan Wise; and a host of extended family and friends.
Larry graduated from Shawnee High School and got his Associate's from Bryant Stratton Business College. He went on to retire from Mayfield Produce after 26 years of hard work. In his retirement, Larry enjoyed delivering for Paul's Fruit Market. He was an avid UK Basketball fan and he loved attending NASCAR races. Back in the 1970's, he also loved to chat on the CB Radio, using his infamous handle "BC Polecat".
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM, at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY, 40218. A funeral service in Larry's honor will begin at 2:00 PM at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
