She is preceded in death by her parents, Newton C. Shouse III and Joyce Ruhe, a brother, Newton Combs Shouse IV and her faithful dog Gizmo.
Laura is survived by her husband of 32 years, Robert Smith, their daughters, Sam Smith and Robyn Smith, a sister, Blair and Doug Phelps , nephew, DaCosta Phelps and a niece, Kasey Phelps.
She is also survived by her loyal dog Raleigh.
A memorial visitation will be held from 11am -3pm on Sunday January 15, 2023 at Arch L. Heady – Cralle Funeral Home.
