
Lawrence (Larry) J. Dauenhauer, 92, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on February 7, 2025. He was born on August 27, 1932, to Hallie C. Dauenhauer and Joseph C. Dauenhauer in Louisville. Larry dedicated his life to serving others through his work and faith. He retired after more than 22 years as CFO for Baptist Home Inc. Senior Living Community and previously served as the administrator of Springhurst Health and Rehab. Prior to that, he was the Vice President of Baptist Homes for Children, where he devoted 37 years of his career before retiring.
A man of deep faith, Larry was a deacon of Broadway Baptist Church and formerly served as a deacon of Deer Park Baptist Church. He also held the esteemed role of Moderator of the Long Run Baptist Association, further demonstrating his commitment to his community and his faith. He was recently recognized as a 70-year member of the Freemasonry which emphasizes self -improvement, morality, and community service.
Larry was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, kindness, and unwavering faith in the Lord. His greatest achievements were not only his professional accomplishments but also the love he shared with others and the lessons he taught about the true meaning of love. He is survived by his sons, David Dauenhauer (Stephanie) and Donald Dauenhauer (Theresa); his stepdaughters, Laura Elinski (Mark) and Melissa Martin; his daughter-in-law, Mary Bauer (Douglas); nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his former wife, Patricia Pfeiffer, whom he wished to acknowledge. Larry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce; his infant daughter, Donna Sue; his son, Douglas Dauenhauer; and his daughter, Denise Cecil. Larry’s life was a testament to love, faith, and service, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
A visitation for Lawrence will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 7410 Westport Road, Louisville, KY 402224100. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 7410 Westport Road, Louisville, KY 402224100. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Cave Hill National Cemetery, 701 Baxter Ave, Louisville, KY 40204.
